Shelby Tebow’s disappearance sets off a chain of unsettling events, followed by the vanishing of Meredith Dickey and her daughter Delilah, casting a shadow over their tranquil town. The mystery deepens when, after years, Delilah reappears, bringing with her revelations no one is ready for. This audiobook quickly became a favorite of mine, gripping me with its shifting viewpoints and timelines. Its dark, intricate plot makes it an ideal listen for autumn, though it found its way into my summer recommendations.
The narrative evoked the essence of the TV show “Cruel Summer,” filling the void left by the series. It’s not a carbon copy, but fans of the show will likely find this book equally enthralling. The unexpected twist at the book’s conclusion took me by surprise, a testament to a well-crafted thriller. While some may find the ending a bit far-fetched, it resonated with me. I’m curious to hear others’ thoughts on this compelling tale.
